Van Cleef & Arpels Celebrates Love Stories with the Pont des Amoureux collection at South Coast Plaza

Costa Mesa, May 2021 – To celebrate the newest timepieces of the signature Pont des Amoureux collection, Van Cleef & Arpels has imagined an immersive installation at South Coast Plaza, in Costa Mesa, California. From May 3rd – 16th, 1,000 square feet of the shopping center’s Jewel Court will be transformed into a Parisian dreamscape that brings love stories to life.

A cherished theme for the Maison since its foundation in 1906, love has inspired the creation of the Lady Arpels Pont des Amoureux (Lovers’ Bridge) timepiece in 2010. In keeping with its unique vision of watchmaking infused with dreams and emotions, the Maison has added a new daytime version to its permanent collection. The watches now feature an on-demand module to activate the iconic lovers’ kiss animation on the dial. Also on display will be new jewelry models depicting the lovers throughout the changing seasons, and the masculine Midnight Pont des Amoureux watch with a revisited decor.

As they make their way through the installation (which will strictly follow state and local COVID guidelines on social distancing and sanitization) visitors are invited to discover the dreamlike universe of Van Cleef & Arpels’ Poetry of Time. Organized around a delicate garden dedicated to Enchanted Nature, four rooms explore themes dear to the Maison: the first two rooms offer a dive into the Pont des Amoureux dials brought to life with a landscape of Paris by night and by day, a third room opens its door on a dramatic Fairies and Ballerinas room, while the fourth gives pride of place to a star-studded sky in tribute to Poetic Astronomy. The remarkable range of the Maison’s collections and the stories that have driven its creativity since its founding will be on display, including a special prelaunch of the new Alhambra watch pendant, a creation that seamlessly merges the worlds of jewelry and timepieces.
